(b) You can increase the width of your diamond engagement ring by replacing the center diamond with a gemstone of your choice. The diamonds on the side could be left as 2mm rounds or replaced with diamonds of much larger size like 2.5mm or 3mm depending on your budget. The side diamonds could be 3mm round diamonds to keep the proportion of the ring intact.

This is because 14k gold is much harder and therefore more sturdy as compared to 18k gold.
